Profits Down, Spending Steady: The Global Innovation 1000
More than two-thirds of the companies included in this year’s Global Inno vation 1000 maintained or increased R&D spending in 2008, and even though a third of the companies reported a financial loss for the year, we found no correlation between financial losses and reductions in R&D spending.

Dilbert and pandemics productivity decrease

Dilbert.com

Yes, a pandemic might influence productivity, but how much is that compared to other things?

  • management driven reporting frenzy
  • too many pan organizational quality, productivity and reorg projects at the same time
  • the disconnect between top, mid and low level management reality - breakdown of top-down management model
  • pan organizational communication congestion
  • commonality driven IT department agendas

Couldn’t it actually be the case that some productivity goes up, rather than down when 50% of the employees are away from work for 2-3 weeks?
