Confirming what we knew all along. With a number closer to 30 children per teacher in Sweden the catastrophic decreasing quality in educational results isn’t that strange. If we also take into account that children are more aware and more socially active/stressed in a modern media society the number of children per class probably should be even lower over time.

Interesting to get some opposing views as well… Is this the true image or isn’t there a true image at all. When others do their research, maybe their opposing findings are true there? What I think we have to conclude is that this traditional research methodology are not sufficient in in world which doesn’t follow any bell curve anymore…

Of course Shirky is right, but I think it is even broader. Shirky is a researcher and talks about the media he really knows a lot about. But I think the story is a bit more complex. The modern man is actually a product of being a consumer for 100 years and don’t forget the huge effect on people mass media have had and still do.

Huh??? That is really neat. If we in the UK can’t manage the administration, send it away to the ITALIANS!!! OK, it is at least not the French… LOL!! What is wrong sending it to Switzerland, Austria, Germany or Scandinavia? Countries whose culture actually support structure and administration…
